A new meeting focused on Addiction to Online Research is starting on Fridays at 12 pm ET. This meeting focuses on compulsive research, information gathering, and impulsive searching that turns into a trip down the Internet rabbit hole. All members are welcome to participate whether or not they identify with the special focus.

There is a *NEW* meeting beginning Wednesday November 22nd at 3:30PM ET that is focused on internet and technology use and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and how these two intersect and exacerbate one another. The North American Convention Committee secured the initial $8,000 deposit for the beautiful Pearlstone Retreat Center, outside Baltimore, MD for Sept 27-29, 2024. To finalize our reservation, we must complete our final deposit by November 20th. We only need 6 more fellows to register now or donate toward the cause. We anticipate registration fees to be between $430-475. To register now, we ask that you contribute $500. Funds will first cover our deposit, then go to a scholarship fund for attendees.

The North American Convention Committee has found a venue for our 2024 Convention next September on the East Coast, near Washington, D.C.! We have two weeks to secure the venue and we need 30 ITAA Members to contribute $500 each to sponsor the Convention to fund our initial deposit. Our fellowship has voted to adjust the wording of Traditions 8 and 9. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Tradition 8: While our service bodies may employ qualified workers, the act of one member helping another ought never be compensated, ensuring that ITAA remains forever nonprofessional.
Tradition 9: ITAA ought never be organized as a hierarchy, but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve.

There is a new Sex, Love, and Fantasy Cross Addiction Meeting starting on Mondays at 8:30 PM EST! The intention of this meeting is to create a safe, judgment-free space for members of ITAA to nurture recovery with issues related to sex and love addiction. This is a closed door meeting, meaning we lock the meeting after the mission statement is read.

The Literature Committee is currently seeking written recovery stories to consider for inclusion in our first ITAA book. If you have at least 6 months in ITAA, stable sobriety as you understand it, and you are working the 12 steps, we invite you to share your experience, strength and hope with our fellowship and the still-suffering addicts we hope to reach. Stories should be between 2000 and 3500 words, and you can include what life was like during active addiction, what happened to initiate your path to recovery, and what life is like today. Now that ITAA is a federal nonprofit, we’ve automatically been approved to receive $10,000 in Google Ads credits every month. Following a discussion at our ISM to ensure that use of these credits is in line with our Traditions, we voted to gradually increase our ad spend starting on August 15th with half going towards in-person meetings and non-English meetings. We expect this to lead to a significant increase in newcomers, so please read our security guidelines for meetings and ensure meeting leaders have the Zoom host code.
