The Public Relations committee is collecting recovery stories to post on a forum focused on IT addiction which is a consistent source of traffic to our website. If you would like to help carry the message, please email inquiries.itaa@gmail.com with an informal written story between 250 and 600 words sharing what has been helpful in your recovery, as written for someone who is struggling with internet addiction but hasn’t heard of ITAA yet.

Following the recent fellowship-wide group conscience about an ITAA logo, the Literature Committee will host a logo brainstorming and design workshop, open to all members of the fellowship. The meeting will be held on November 27th at 12pm EST in the Service Room. At this meeting, we will select 5 variations to be presented to the next ISM for a final vote. We are approaching daylight savings, which means that the time of your meetings may be shifting in the coming weeks. As our calendar now follows the US time zone change, US members will generally not need to make any changes. Members in Europe, Asia, Australia, and other countries are encouraged to double check the meeting calendar to ensure they don’t miss their meetings.

ITAA has voted to stop using the phrase “International Business Meeting” and start using “International Service Meeting” instead. We’ve also voted to change the deadline for submitting agenda items from 7 days prior to the next meeting to 10 days prior.

On October 8th from 2:30-4pm Eastern, the Web Content Committee will hold a broad fellowship group conscience to discuss how to best communicate the various methods members are using to find freedom from compulsive internet and technology use. This will help ensure our web content better represents the fellowship accurately and inclusively. In particular, we’d like to develop a more-informed group conscience about how we represent the principle of “no unnecessary technology use” and the tool of top, middle and bottom lines on our website. On Saturday August 6, two experienced members will host a 90-minute Safety and Empowerment workshop in which they’ll share their experience responding to uncomfortable and inappropriate behavior in recovery. The workshop will be held at 11am ET, and then again at 8pm ET. Please come and help strengthen our fellowship as a safe and welcoming place for people to find recovery. We look forward to seeing you!
