Welcome to Internet and Technology Addicts Anonymous! We’re glad you’ve found us, and we hope our community can be as helpful to you as it has been for us. ITAA is a Twelve-Step fellowship of individuals who support each other in recovering from internet and technology addiction. This includes addiction to social media, smartphones, streaming video or audio content, games, news, pornography, dating apps, online research, online shopping, or any other digital activity that becomes compulsive and problematic.

ITAA Meetings in Pittsburgh
This meeting is open to yinzers and non-yinzers alike! We welcome any newcomers online and in person.
We spend the first ten minutes of the meeting reading a passage from relevant ITAA literature or helpful literature from other fellowships. Afterward, members are free to share based on topics from the reading or whatever is on their minds. You can get a feel for our meeting by reading the script: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bOl-GhM5JprCjBFRgxwLGLRVMc9jw6iic5HvaZYZmA4/edit?usp=sharing
**For our in-person folks:** Join us on Saturdays from 10:30 to 11:30 at the Carnegie Library in East Liberty (30 S Whitfield St, Pittsburgh, PA 15206). There is designated accessible on-street parking on S. Whitfield, and also a public metered lot on Tamello Way.
Due to the volume of room reservations at this library, we are unable to book the same room each week. **Please check this schedule (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_vvbqWKAcQC7RUSR2b0GppT6EcJQo-2Xbusk6wYbtfQ/edit?usp=sharing) for accurate information on any room/location changes or meeting cancellations.**
If you’d like to be kept in the loop about any changes to our meeting time or location, please send an email to itaapgh@gmail.com, and we’ll add you to our email list. Please also feel free to shoot us a message if you have any questions.
We also meet virtually at this time on Zoom, in the Recovery Room

Additional meetings
If you’re new, we encourage you to try attending six meetings in a short period of time to see if our program may be helpful to you. In addition to our local in-person meeting, you can also review our other in-person meetings and a complete schedule of online meetings. All meetings are completely free and anonymous.
How do meetings work?
If you will be joining a meeting for the first time, there’s no need to be nervous. Most of our meetings are very simple; each meeting has a chairperson who leads the meeting, and most meetings are one hour long. The chair and other volunteers read some opening statements, before we open the meeting for members to share. There is no requirement to share, and it’s okay to just listen. If you feel comfortable, you can introduce yourself and share what brought you to ITAA. Unless requested by the member sharing, we do not offer suggestions or comments in response to other’s shares; we simply listen non-judgmentally. At the end of the hour, the meeting will end with some closing statements, after which members usually talk casually, ask questions, and exchange contact details.
Internet and Technology Addiction resources
If you’re wondering whether you may have an internet and technology addiction, you can review our questionnaires for internet addiction, social media addiction, streaming addiction, phone addiction, or video game addiction. You can also learn more about ITAA by reading our guide for newcomers, reviewing our tools of recovery, or listening to members’ recovery stories.
ITAA is not affiliated with any political agenda, religion, or outside interests. We’re fully self-supporting and free to all who need it. Our single purpose is to abstain from compulsive internet and technology use and to help others find freedom from this addiction.
Again, welcome! We hope this community is able to provide the support you need in your recovery from internet and technology addiction. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
